The farm
and its farmers
The farm –
Northern Tynnøl – is a medium-sized Norwegian farm, producing
150 tons of milk and 7-8 tons of beef per year. At any time there are
about 25 milking cows and 50 other heads of cattle on the farm. We have
a cat, Tigris, who is a master in catching mice, and from time to time
we have a few pigs, lambs and hens. We, Marit and Espen, have been
running the
farm since 1997 when we took over from Marit’s father. We have three
childen: Trond (born 1999), Tora (born 2001), and Svein (born 2004).

Both
of us have a degree in natural resources management from the
Agricultural University of Norway (now Norwegian University of Life
Sciences). Before taking over the farm, we travelled quite a bit in
Europe, Africa and Latin America. And we have been rowing the (almost)
entire Norwegian coast in an open boat. But all this happened long
ago...

Now,
the farm and the children cause us to move about in smaller circles.
Therefore, we wish the world to travel to us – so, whether you come
from Cape Town, San Francisco, Kyoto, Sydney or Bergen.
